As it takes a figure like a flying hawk seen from Uljin, it is called Maebongsan (Mt., Eungbongsan). It has the only open air hot spring in the valley and even though it is not very high, it is steep and very rugged. It is spotlighted as a hike trails which have lively ecological environment and excellent scenery combined with hot spring bath. As not many hike trails are developed yet, it has still kept the natural primitive state and many valleys are a thesaurus of animals and plants.
A sunset on the summit is no less than the one on any other noted mountains. You can look out Baegamsan (Mt.), Tonggosan (Mt.), Irwolsan (Mt.), Satgatbong (Peak), Baekbyeongsan (Mt.), Hambaeksan (Mt.), Taebaeksan (Mt.), etc on which lights are reflected thrown by fishing boats for squid in the distance at night during the squid season between the end of April and the end of October. Although it holds outstanding valleys, it is difficult for you to ascend without professional knowledge and experience except for main routes.
