Sinbulsan (Mt.) at 1,208m is designated as a county park with Ganwolsan (Mt., 1,083m) on the north, by Ulju-gun in Nov. 3, 1983. These mountains stretch away like a folding screen around Eonyang and form cliffs on the east with fantastic rocks and stones rising sheer from them. The top of the mountain forms a broad field on it. The physical aspect of the mountain seems like reaching to the sky magnificently above the clouds and its view is beautiful throughout the four seasons. That's why it is called the Alps of Yeongnam. The girth of a fortress reaches up to 4,050 ja (Korean foot) and there is a crater lake not drying throughout the year in it. It is the fortress wall whose firmness was admired by Bak Munsu, a royal secret investigator when he saw it on Danjobong (Peak) while he was going on patrol in Yeongnam during the reign of Yeongjo the Great (King) in the Joseon dynasty. He said that no matter how many armies attack, it would not be opened.
It is called Danjiseong or Danjoseong because of its shape like a jar. Under Wangbong (Peak), Hongnyupokpo (Water fall) streams and forms Jakgwaecheon (Stream). The sedentary statue of stone Buddha in Ganwolsaji (Temple) is lost in meditation at Ganwolsaji (Temple) in Jakcheonjeong.
