It is connected through the bottom of the western ridge of Gajisan (Mt. 1,240m), the main peak of Yeongnam Alps. This is, in short, a robust and solemn mountain. The best place to look out the mountain from a distance is on the side of the road to Bangji in Bangjijae (Ridge) on national road no. 20, which goes over to Bangji from Donggok. The features of Unmunsan (Mt.) connected by the ridge of Eoksan (Mt.) are virtuous and brisk. Another good place to look out the mountain is Mokgol, at the cross over of a brook as soon as passing Unmunsa (Temple). When entering Mokgol, you can see the majestic appearance of Unmunsan (Mt.) for a while. As you can realize by its name which means a cloud-capped mountain, often clouds surround the mountainside. It is a mystic figure worthy of a holy mountain.
On the way to Cheongdo from the summit of Unmunsan (Mt.), you can look out beauty of low continuous peaks in a row standing under the clouds. The route for Kyeongnam has lost much of its original feature by the crowd of tourists. Unmun Valley and mountains in Cheongdo, however, has still kept a deep blue pond, base rocks of the valley carved with smooth lines by the current for a long time, and the primitive scenery which has not been tainted. Therefore they can be beautiful gifts from God.
