Hoemunsan (Mt.) has the geographical features of a typical
Korean mountain with Janggubong (Peak, 780m) in the northwest
and Hoemunbong (Peak, 837m) in the north. Along the stretches
of mountain ranges to the southwest, there are big and small
rocky outcrops that create beautiful landscapes. The
southeast stretch is made up of Cheonmabong (Peak) and
Gotdaebong (Peak). Native oak species are dominant in
the forests, along with some Japanese cherries, Korean
azaleas, chocolate vines, and other wild plants. You can enjoy
the colorful patches of wild flowers in the spring and rich
colors of the autumn leaves in the fall. It is also a historic
place where the national patriots such as Choe Ik-hyun, Lim
Chang-byeong and Yang yun-suk fought against the Japanese
forces. There are also remains of the Korean War
including soldier camps.
